Your instructors are Stephen Horowitz & Daniel A. Edelson. They are experienced attorneys, professors, and instructors of Legal English and English as a Second Language.

Together they co-host the USLawEssentials Law & Language podcast and have taught US Law & Legal English to students from around the world online and in person.

Options

USLawEssentials will offer a 4-week online legal English certificate course starting May 16, 2022. The course will be taught by Prof. Stephen Horowitz, Legal English Lecturer at Georgetown Law School, and  Daniel Edelson

But what to teach?

One option is Preparing for the US Law School Experience (PULSE): Intro to the US legal system + Legal writing + Legal reading. This will be ideal for international students interested in getting ready for a JD or LLM program at a US law school.

A second option is Bar Exam Essay Writing for Non-Native English Speakers (BAR): Helping non-native English speakers prepare for the bar by improving their writing organization, speed, language, and overall writing effectiveness.
