Departments are the executive agencies of the United States federal government. The US government does not have “Ministries” – it has Departments. There are 15 Departments and the heads of each Department are part of the Cabinet that advises the President of the United States. Departments are usually headed by Secretaries (e.g., the Secretary of Labor, Secretary of State) but the Department of Justice is headed by the Attorney General of the United States,
