A bailment is when one person, the bailor, temporarily transfers possession of personal property to another person, the bailee, for a specific purpose, pursuant to an express or implied contract. When a person leaves her car in a parking garage, the garage and the attendant would be considered bailees because the bailor, the owner of the car, gave possession of the car to the attendant so he can park and store the car for her.
